The province of Almeria offers many places of interest. It has many villages that conserve their singular character and some extraordinary natural environments.

Going from Nijar, passing through Lucainena de Las Torres, you reach areas of outstanding natural beauty, Desert of Tabernas, and Sorbas with its Gypsum caves (called Karsts) .

You can use different routes to discover the various mountain ranges of the North of the province such as the Almerian Alpujarras (Alhama de Almería, Cánjayar, Instinción etc), the Sierra de los Filabres (Benizalón, Gergal, Serón, Macael), the Sierra Nevada or the Sierra de María.

The provincial capital Almería also has its attractions such as the Arab fortress (Alcazaba), the 16th Century Cathedral, the narrow streets of the main shopping area and the beach of El Zapillo. Almeria has all the services and activities you would expect of a modern city with a population of over 150,000.
